Flashiness is mandatory.
Every little bit of effort counts in visual presentation; the design process is rarely ever "done." Despite the amount of effort that goes into creating a visually appealing identity, the real monents of success or failure happen in mere seconds, if that. The following is a small overview of an attempt at giving our group project, tweetem a recognziable image in just one week.

The Process
When we first discussed this project, we never really took into account how valuable an organized visual identity would be. It always seemed to be a class "project" and never really something that needed to be portrayed in a pleasing way let alone portrayed in a way that would draw people in. When I returned from an extended absence and took a look at the materials that the group was prepared to present, it really occurred to me that the area of organized identity needed a leader. Using some direction from the already established public image from twitter and a little random inspiration, birds and an owl came to life.

The Result
Tweetem was, honestly, more than a project or experiment; it was a "product" that needed to be pleasing to the eye and catchy to the right people. It needed to be comfortable to come back to never feel like the user was not in control of their creation process. The birds called back to the platform on which tweetem is based on yet offered their own simplicity to keep them within the design theme which oriented around our own bird; the owl.

To be completly honest, the owl was a random occurence which has become a reoccuring element in my designs as of late. It was satisfying to see it be implemented in an appropraite fashion. This little bit of a design outlet in this Language, Texts and Technologies class were some of the most exciting hours that I have had working on the assigned projects. This might have to do with the fact that design is quite rewarding as the first elements hit the page.

In the end, the design came through and the project had it's graphical elements. I consider the whole endevor as less of a completed project in my mind and more of a test of a high speed stress exercise which the group, in it's entirety, accomplished with great enthusiasm.
